To motivate you to stay fit at home, here are fun online workout programs to inspire you to get in the best shape of your life. From popular YouTube fitness mavens to local fitness instructors who are now offering remote personal training sessions via digital tools, here are some of my favorite online workout programs to do.
The Benefits of Working Out at Home
While I usually go to the gym or take in-person fitness classes, I’ve recently realized that working out at home can be both fun and challenging. By regularly doing online workout programs, they give you a wide variety of exercises to do (which keeps workouts interesting) while challenging you to up your fitness game.
Not only does working out at home help you stay fit and healthy, but it also gives you something fun to look forward to each day. Getting off the couch to move your body helps you get those mood-boosting endorphins flowing, which helps you feel happy and energized. Not only will you look better, but you’ll also feel great too!
Fun Online Workout Programs
Alexia Clarke: This petite powerhouse fitness maven has amassed 2 million followers on Instagram for a reason – she’s the self-titled “Queen of Workouts”. She offers an online fitness program with home and gym workouts. Plus she shares many workout videos and tips on her Instagram channel. She will help you sculpt lean, toned muscles without “bulking up”. In addition to workout videos, she also encourages her community to submit progress photos (sharing their before-and-after snaps), which she reposts on her account (to motivate others to get fit too).
Blogilates: If you’re a Pilates fan, then you definitely need to check out Cassie Ho’s popular channel. She does regular Pilates-based workout videos on her YouTube channel (which has over 4 million subscribers). She has an upbeat, cheery personality which helps to keep you inspired as you follow along. Her website comes with a variety of helpful tools including a workout calendar, cute printables, and even a 14-Day Quarantine Workout Plan.
Pamela Reif: This German fitness model and cookbook author looks like a petite Barbie doll but is stronger than you would ever imagine. Her high-energy workout videos are short in duration (ranging from 10-20 minutes) but are incredibly challenging to do. To put it simply – you’ll be sweating in minutes and your muscles will be sore for days. I especially love her leg and booty-sculpting workout videos. Her videos also have great music to keep you energized.
Popsugar Fitness: If you’re missing the feeling of being in a live workout class with your gal pals, then this online workout program will satiate you. Offering a wide variety of exercise videos (ranging from yoga and dance to HIIT, Pilates, Barre and beyond), these upbeat and fun workout videos will get you up and moving in no time.
Natacha Océane: If you love high-intensity workouts that burn calories and strengthen your body, then this is one fitness maven you need to check out. Her no-equipment at-home workouts are great (especially right now) and will truly push you to get in shape. Plus they have awesome music to pump you up while working out and include count-down timers (so you know how long to do each movement).
Tone It Up: Brought to you by fitness gal pals Katrina Scott & Karena Dawn, this dynamic duo has created a popular fitness & healthy lifestyle brand that has inspired millions of women to get in shape. Their down-to-earth, girl-next-door personalities make them appealing to women everywhere. Plus, they offer lots of fun workout videos, health supplements, and even advice on healthy eating. During this time period, Katrina has even been doing free LIVE Instagram workouts on her account (@katrinascott) to keep you motivated to stay fit at home.
Local Fitness Instructors Offering Digital Personal Training Sessions
As I’m friends with several fitness instructors, I love supporting them in any way I can, especially during this challenging period. From yoga instructors to Pilates pros, here are some of my fitness friends who are offering digital personal training sessions and online workout programs.
Pilates by Paris: Paris Marks was one of my Reformer Pilates instructors in Carmel and is one of the most knowledgable health and fitness experts I know. She is a Stott Pilates certified instructor and specializes in helping people who have needed rehabilitation due to injuries or conditions (like scoliosis). Her Instagram account shares workout videos, helpful tips and advice, and more.
Physique Exercise Salon: Created by Maddy Crouch, the Pilates studio owner in Carmel, California, she is trained in a variety of fitness methods, including Pilates, TRX, and Barre. For years, I took her workout classes at her super-chic studio and have recently even done a digital workout class with her (and our other friends) via Zoom. She has been posting inspiring at-home workout videos on the studio’s YouTube channel, which can be accessed for free. To learn more about Maddy, check out the “The Fit Physique Guide To Pilates Reformer” tutorial series on Inspirations & Celebrations.
Treehaus Wellness: I was never into yoga before taking Kate Balog’s “Yoga in the Vines” class at Folktale Vineyards. Ever since doing her 90-minute yoga class, I was hooked. So much so, that we even collaborated to create the “Yoga in the Vines” tutorial series for Inspirations & Celebrations, to inspire you to learn yoga moves. She is currently offering digital yoga sessions to clients, which will help you gain flexibility, balance, and improve your posture. In addition, she is very knowledgeable about meditation and wellness practices, so she can help you learn how to de-stress and relax your mind.
Woodhall Wellness: As one of my best friends (since kindergarten), Andrea Woodhall has always been one of the most active, energetic, and enthusiastic people I’ve ever known. As a long-time athlete and fitness enthusiast, she has become trained and certified in a number of fitness programs. While she is originally from the Monterey Bay area, she is now living in Austin, Texas. However, she is currently offering digital personal training and yoga instruction sessions to clients from all over. She’s also able to share healthy eating tips, wellness advice, and more.
