The Benefits of Working Out at Home

While I usually go to the gym or take in-person fitness classes, I’ve recently realized that working out at home can be both fun and challenging. By regularly doing online workout programs, they give you a wide variety of exercises to do (which keeps workouts interesting) while challenging you to up your fitness game.

Not only does working out at home help you stay fit and healthy, but it also gives you something fun to look forward to each day. Getting off the couch to move your body helps you get those mood-boosting endorphins flowing, which helps you feel happy and energized. Not only will you look better, but you’ll also feel great too!

Local Fitness Instructors Offering Digital Personal Training Sessions

As I’m friends with several fitness instructors, I love supporting them in any way I can, especially during this challenging period. From yoga instructors to Pilates pros, here are some of my fitness friends who are offering digital personal training sessions and online workout programs.

Pilates by Paris: Paris Marks was one of my Reformer Pilates instructors in Carmel and is one of the most knowledgable health and fitness experts I know. She is a Stott Pilates certified instructor and specializes in helping people who have needed rehabilitation due to injuries or conditions (like scoliosis). Her Instagram account shares workout videos, helpful tips and advice, and more.

Physique Exercise Salon: Created by Maddy Crouch, the Pilates studio owner in Carmel, California, she is trained in a variety of fitness methods, including Pilates, TRX, and Barre. For years, I took her workout classes at her super-chic studio and have recently even done a digital workout class with her (and our other friends) via Zoom. She has been posting inspiring at-home workout videos on the studio’s YouTube channel, which can be accessed for free. To learn more about Maddy, check out the “The Fit Physique Guide To Pilates Reformer” tutorial series on Inspirations & Celebrations.

Treehaus Wellness: I was never into yoga before taking Kate Balog’s “Yoga in the Vines” class at Folktale Vineyards. Ever since doing her 90-minute yoga class, I was hooked. So much so, that we even collaborated to create the “Yoga in the Vines” tutorial series for Inspirations & Celebrations, to inspire you to learn yoga moves. She is currently offering digital yoga sessions to clients, which will help you gain flexibility, balance, and improve your posture. In addition, she is very knowledgeable about meditation and wellness practices, so she can help you learn how to de-stress and relax your mind.

Woodhall Wellness: As one of my best friends (since kindergarten), Andrea Woodhall has always been one of the most active, energetic, and enthusiastic people I’ve ever known. As a long-time athlete and fitness enthusiast, she has become trained and certified in a number of fitness programs. While she is originally from the Monterey Bay area, she is now living in Austin, Texas. However, she is currently offering digital personal training and yoga instruction sessions to clients from all over. She’s also able to share healthy eating tips, wellness advice, and more. To learn more about Andrea, check out this article on I&C.
