The Hottest Spring 2015 Makeup Trends

From next-to-nude neutral makeup and ethereal, smoky eyes to bronzed skin and dramatic pouts, here are four of the hottest Spring 2015 makeup trends you must try this season. With Spring just a few weeks away, now is the perfect time to look ahead to the fresh, new beauty trends that will take you through the next few months looking gorgeous and of-the-moment.

Spring 2015 Makeup Trends

NEUTRAL MAKEUP:

When you think of warm Spring days, do you instantly conjure up the idea of radiant, glowing skin? If so, then the neutral makeup trend is definitely worth trying. While it doesn’t mean skipping makeup altogether, it does mean opting for a more understated look.

After using a lightweight SPF-based moisturizer on your clean face (to give you a dewy look and protect your skin), sparingly apply a BB Cream (to cover any blemishes or imperfections). Then apply a rosy blush (cream or liquid versions look the most natural) on the apples of your cheeks, a soft pinkish lip color on your pout, and a sweep of brown mascara on your lashes.

ETHEREAL, SMOKY EYES:

This season, the smoky eye is softer and more ethereal. This dreamy look strikes the perfect chord between magical and mysterious. Using enchanting lavender and purple makeup hues, Spring’s smoky eye is a new take on a classic look. Opt for shimmery eyeshadows, metallic liners, and lash-plumping mascara for the ultimate effect.

BRONZED SKIN:

As expected, the hottest Spring 2015 makeup trends include the über-sexy bronzed skin look. While you don’t want to look like you’ve been baking under the Tuscan sun, the goal here is to create the illusion that you’ve been sauntering on a sultry Mediterranean island for a few days.

Instead of heading to a tanning salon (that’s so 2005!), reach for your nearest faux tanner for a safe and easy quick-fix. A light application of self tanner on your skin instantly wakes you up, giving you a gorgeous, natural-looking glow. Then, using makeup contouring techniques, sweep bronzer underneath your cheekbones, a dash of coral blush to your cheeks, and an illuminator on the tops of your cheekbones, the brow bones, and down the tip of your nose.

BRIGHT LIPS:

Spring 2015 makeup trends can’t be complete without the vivacious bright lip. Hot shades like poppy, coral, and fuchsia are the ultimate way to brighten up your face without having to go all-out on makeup. Keep the rest of your look simple and clean, to off-set this dramatic lip look.

Here are some key tips for rocking bright lips. Make sure to dab concealer on any red areas or imperfections, as bright lips can magnify problem spots. Always make sure to properly exfoliate your lips first, as bright colors make any dry, chapped skin more noticeable. To keep your pout looking picture-perfect, use a nude or clear lipliner first to prevent bleeding or feathering. Apply an SPF-infused lip balm before applying your lip color, to ensure your lips don’t get zapped by the sun’s harmful rays.
