“Christmas In The Adobes” is an annual holiday event held each December by the California State Parks and the Monterey State Historic Park Association in downtown Monterey, California. 


The self-guided walking tour enables residents and visitors to stroll through the streets of Historic Downtown Monterey and visit up to twenty-three 19th Century Adobes, featuring period dance lessons at Custom House, bagpipers and live music at several  historic homes, and the opportunity to learn the history of each adobe from docents dressed in time-period clothing. The adobe tour includes the Old Whaling Station, California’s First Theatre, Monterey Museum of Art, Robert Louis Stevenson House, Colton Hall, and many more interesting and culturally-rich locations.
