From Botox (which is actually a Botulism Toxin injection) to Bee Venom (which supposedly gives the skin a healthy, youthful appearance), in the world of beauty, it seems like nothing is off limits nowadays. One of the more recent developments in anti-aging treatments is the use of fruit-based stem cell skin care. From face creams to serums, and eye treatments to makeup, beauty companies are whipping up new concoctions featuring powerhouse stem cell skin care ingredients, that are reported to help women reverse the most noticeable signs of aging (such as fine lines and wrinkles). Featured here are the benefits of stem cell skin care, and the ways they can help repair and revitalize your skin.
What is Stem Cell Skin Care?
“Where skin care is concerned, the theory is that by applying a product that contains stem-cell extracts derived from plants or fruits, you may encourage the growth of your skin’s own stem cells and possibly trigger their anti-aging effects. The stem cells in beauty products are obtained primarily from plants and fruits that can stay fresh for a long time, like Swiss apples, edelweiss, roses, date palms, and gotu kola (a swamp plant). Extracts of these stem cells—not the live cells themselves—are added to skin-care products.” [Source: RealSimple.com]
Due to the time-consuming and labor-intensive method of how fruit-based stem cells are harvested, extracted, and added to skin care products, it explains why many stem cell skin care products tend to be more expensive, in comparison to other anti-aging skin care treatments.
How Stem Cell Skin Care Works
“Stem cells contain two key components: growth factors, which play a role in cell division, the growth of new cells, and the production of collagen and elastin; and proteins, which regulate that stem-cell division. When applied to your skin, these two components help firm wrinkles and slow the development of new lines.” [Source: FabFitFun.com] For these reasons, stem cell skin care has proven to be effective relative to the treatment and prevent of skin aging.
Stem Cell Skin Care Products
Companies like Origins, Peter Thomas Roth, and Juice Beauty have all been studying the benefits of stem cell skin care in the treatment of skin aging. Juice Beauty, in particular, believes so strongly in the benefits of stem cell skin care, that they have developed an entire skin care collection based on stem cell treatments, including a new eye treatment called Stem Cellular Instant Eye Lift product (which I have personally tested). The product contains antioxidant activator fluid that works in conjunction with a pure marine algae Eye Mask. The combination was developed with the mission of instantly (within 10 minutes) reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and puffiness. In addition, the fruit-based stem cells (derived from “a proprietary blend of apple, grape, and lemon fruit stem cells”) that are contained within the product are intended to “firm the delicate eye area and fight free radicals”. Having used the product over a few weeks, I’ve personally noticed an improvement in the texture and appearance of the skin around my eyes.
As scientific research continues relative to the efficacy of fruit based stem cells in the use of skin care products, it’s definitely worth considering, if you’re looking for a natural, non-chemical treatment that can help reverse the signs of skin aging.
