The month of April is traditionally known for a few things… April showers, Easter (which came early this year), and the annual Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. Aside from checking out the best live musical performances on several stages, this highly-acclaimed event is known to draw thousands of fashionistas, trend-setters, and decked-out celebrities. This Style Guide shares tips about what to wear to Coachella.
Having only been in existence for a little over a decade in the desert city of Indio, California, the Coachella festival has grown so much, it’s now a 2-weekend event (being held April 12-14 and April 19-21). The stages have seen the likes of major performers, including Paul McCartney, Nine Inch Nails, Madonna, Jay-Z, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and many more top name acts. Each year, the musical acts become an increasingly more exciting and eclectic mix, ranging from rock to rap genres, and so much more.
Most of the fashion seen at Coachella has a boho chic look. To fit in with the stylish crowd, make sure to wear comfy ankle boots, a fabulous fedora hat, retro-inspired sunglasses, California cool jewelry (like this peace-symbol bracelet, star pendant necklace, and gold earrings), and a casual hobo bag (to stash all your festival gear in).
If you’re heading out to Coachella, make sure to pack your sunscreen, because it’s gonna be one hot festival!

Love this inspiration idea. I’ve wanted to go to Coachella for a while now..i’m thinking next year. Have you been?

Thanks! I haven’t been to Coachella (yet), but I’ve gone to a lot of music festivals, including OutsideLands. From my experience, festival attire seems to be comparable from one place to the next. Everyone I know who’s been to Coachella has loved it.
