Health Benefits of Juicing

Most people enjoy the refreshing taste of freshly squeezed juices. But did you know that juicing can actually help keep you healthy, prevent diseases, and improve the function of your digestive system too? From improved skin clarity to a natural boost in energy, featured here are the various health benefits that juicing can provide your skin and body.

Benefits of Juicing

Over the past few years, a “juice cleanse” has become a popular health and diet trend. Several high-profile celebrities have been touting the benefits of juicing, as a way to quickly lose weight (especially before a big event, like an awards show), to jumpstart their metabolism, and to add vital nutrients (such as vitamins derived from fruits) back into their body (which can help prevent a cold). But doing a juice cleanse for many people is not only a drastic way to live (as it requires you to only drink juices throughout the day, in place of meals), it also can be expensive.

“Juicing typically requires using a (juicing) machine or equipment in order to turn raw fruits and vegetables into a liquid. By using special blades, most juicers chop up your fruits or vegetables into tiny pieces and spins them in a way to separate the juice from the pulp, which eliminates the majority of the fiber.” [Source: DoctorOz.com]

When juicing becomes a part of your daily diet (as opposed to being used for a quick-fix solution to weight-loss), it can help boost your immune system, give your skin a radiant glow, and increase your energy and vitality. Fruit juices provide fiber for your body, which improves the overall function of your digestive system (helping you stay ‘regular’).

In addition, the essential vitamins found in fruits and vegetables are key to fighting free radicals (which are known to age your skin and body). Juicing is also a great way to ensure you have a variety of different fruits and vegetables in your daily diet (since most people don’t get ample servings with their regular daily meals).

What’s especially fun is that there are a wide variety of tasty and nutritious juicing recipes you can try. You can even add nutritional and dietary supplements (like flaxseed powder and protein powder) to your juice smoothies, to give you an added boost.

For all these reasons and more, when juicing is a part of your daily regime, you gain the nutrients that your body needs to function properly. As a result, you increase your energy, vitality, and health.
