If your skin feels dry, flaky, or chapped lately, you’re not alone. From freezing weather to forced central heating, winter takes a toll on our skin. Fortunately, there are natural solutions to remedy this problem. In today’s skincare guide, discover 5 effective clean beauty products that heal and prevent dry skin.
5 Clean Beauty Products That Heal & Prevent Dry Skin
From an all-in-one bath & body wash (that’s so moisturizing, you won’t need to apply lotion after showering) to hydrating essential oils and non-toxic, antioxidant-rich face lotions, here are 5 of the best clean beauty products you can use to heal and prevent dry skin during winter.
If you’ve noticed lately that I’ve been sharing more information about clean beauty products, it’s because I’m a big believer in using non-toxic beauty products for everyday use (both for short-term and long-term benefits). When we eliminate unhealthy ingredients from our daily routine, we not only help to boost our health & wellness, but we also look more beautiful too.
I can personally attest to the efficacy of clean beauty products, as I’ve seen a radical change in my skin since switching to non-toxic beauty products for my daily routine. My skin has fewer breakouts, looks healthier and more refreshed, and is better looking now than when I was in my 20’s. To prove this point, I’m not wearing any makeup in any of these photos (I literally took these pictures after hopping out of the shower – hence the wet hair).
If you’re considering using more clean beauty products, then these are 5 clean beauty products I highly recommend.
A Clean Face Oil to Moisturize Sensitive Skin
One of my daily beauty must-haves is an essential oil, like Jojoba Oil. This “carrier oil” not only deeply penetrates the skin’s dermal layers (unlike other oils, that sit on top of the skin), but it also opens pores and moisturizes dry skin. I love applying the Cliganic Jojoba Oil around my eyes (to help prevent and soften fine lines and wrinkles) in the morning and evening. It’s especially helpful as a double-cleansing product, as it thoroughly removes makeup (including waterproof eye makeup), while hydrating delicate or sensitive skin.
A Clean Face Mask to Boost Hydration
Developed by beauty influencers Marianna Hewitt and Lauren Gores, Summer Fridays has developed a cult following since launching a couple of years ago. The Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask is one of their most popular clean skincare products (garnering over 100,000 likes from Sephora customers), as it contains nourishing natural ingredients that give skin a renewed, hydrated look and feel. Similar to drinking a glass of water when you’re parched, this hydrating mask truly quenches the skin’s thirst. It leaves dry skin looking dewy, radiant, and supple. It’s also helpful to use as a primer under makeup, as it enables your foundation to glide on more evenly.
A Clean Night Cream to Reverse The Signs of Aging
For several months, before going to bed, I’ve been using Block Island Organics Revitalizing Night Cream. This hydrating face cream contains good-for-you vitamins and antioxidants (that fight against free radicals, which are the culprit behind aging skin). This vegan formula contains no unhealthy toxins (like parabens, sulfates, petrochemicals, dyes, or artificial fragrances). I’ve seen a remarkable improvement in the appearance of my skin since starting to use this product. When I wake up, my face looks refreshed and well-rested. I’ve even noticed that my skin is softer, less prone to dryness, and has a rejuvenated look.
A Clean Sunscreen To Protect Skin from UV Rays
If you’ve been following I&C for a while, then you’ve definitely read about a clean beauty brand called Purlisse. Ever since meeting the company’s Founder (Jennifer Yen) at the Cosmoprof Beauty Convention in Las Vegas several years ago, I’ve become a loyal Purlisse customer. Her innovative clean beauty line is based on Asian wisdom about natural ingredients and formulations. Incorporating beauty-boosting antioxidants (that help to prevent fine lines and improve the skin’s texture and appearance), the Purlisse Blue Lotus Daily Moisturizer with SPF 30 Sunscreen is one of my go-to products for daily use. It doesn’t leave a chalky or greasy finish, it helps to give skin a healthy-looking glow (as it’s hydrating), and it protects the skin from the damaging rays of the sun.
A Clean Bath & Body Product for Soft Skin
A few weeks ago, my friend (Brian Bode, the Founder of BODE 1 Skin) introduced me to his brand new, all-in-one bath & body product. Since testing out the product, I’ve been hooked! This luxurious, non-toxic vegan body wash contains hydrating natural ingredients (such as Aloe, Jojoba seed oil, Bergamot Mint oil, and Clary Sage oil). Not only does it emulsify when mixed with water (making it ideal for sudsing up in the shower and even using to shave with), but it leaves skin feeling silky smooth. So much so, that you don’t need to apply body lotion afterward. In addition to being a clean beauty product, the packaging is also eco-friendly (as it’s made from a biodegradable sugar-based material), which gives you peace of mind.
