Achieving beautiful, healthy skin requires more than just relying on topical treatments; it begins with proper nutrition. And what better way to start your day than with a breakfast that not only fills you up, gives you energy, and tastes delicious, but it also helps you look even more beautiful?!
I’ve been enjoying this wholesome, natural, vitamin-filled breakfast for the past few weeks, and have noticed the improved clarity and radiance in my skin. So I figured it was about time to share this antioxidant-rich and super-nutritious recipe with all of you. First I start with basic oatmeal (unsweetened), then I add some water and vanilla flavored soy milk. Next I add a dash of cinnamon, a handful of raisins and almonds, and a generous heaping of Navitas Superfruit Blend. I mix all these ingredients in a bowl and pop it into the microwave for a minute and a half (you can also cook the oats with water on a stovetop, if you prefer). Voila! Delicious and nutritious.
Here’s why this breakfast is so good for you (and your skin):
OATMEAL: Oatmeal contains a wide array of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants and is a good source of protein, complex carbohydrates and iron. Oatmeal contains special antioxidants called avenanthramides that prevent free radicals from attacking good cholesterol, which also helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.” [Source: Examiner.com]

RAISINS: Loaded with potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, and iron, raisins help with body balance and boost blood health. They also are packed with photonutrients, which help fight germs, bacteria, and viruses — thus causing your body to look more vibrant and strong. Raisins give the body energy and vitality and help in relieving toxins. [Source: The Stir]
ALMONDS: Almonds can help your acne by improving the condition of your skin. The vitamin E found contained in almonds helps guard your cells against free radicals. [Source: LiveStrong.com]
SUPERFRUIT BLEND: Combines the nutritional power of some of nature’s most antioxidant-rich foods: goji berries, acai berries and pomegranate. The potent combination provides you with a plentiful and diverse supply of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants in each serving. Unique antioxidants found in goji berries have been associated with healthier, younger looking skin, and the fiber of these pure, potent superfruits helps to eliminate toxins. [Source: Navitas]
