To make life simple for you this season, here’s a Sweet & Savory Roasted Chicken recipe that tastes as good as it looks. Plus, with lean protein, heart-healthy olive oil, and nutrient-rich veggies, it’s one of the best healthy meals to whip up in just 30 minutes (plus a few minutes of prep time).

Sweet & Savory Roasted Chicken Ingredients

  • 2 Chicken Breasts
  • 6 Fresh Garlic Cloves (minced)
  • 1/2 Yellow Onion (chopped)
  • Black Pepper 
  • Pink Himalayan Salt
  • Ground Cumin Powder
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • Sweet Potatoes (Canned Yams)

Step 1: Pre-heat the oven to 450ºF and line a baking sheet with a piece of aluminum foil.

Step 2: Coat chicken breasts with EVOO, black pepper, sea salt, and ground cumin.

Step 3: Using a sharp knife (our favorites are the professional-quality Global Knives), chop the onion.

Step 4: Place the seasoned chicken and chopped onion on the baking sheet.

Step 5: Mince fresh garlic.

Step 6: Sprinkle the minced garlic on top of the chicken breasts. 

Step 7: Place cut sweet potatoes around the pan.

Step 8: Drizzle olive oil and sprinkle seasonings on the remaining vegetables for extra flavor.

Step 9: Place the baking sheet in the oven for 30 minutes. At the 20-minute mark, use tongs to flip over the chicken breasts and vegetables one time. Place back in the oven for the remaining 10 minutes. 

Step 10: Serve immediately and enjoy!

TIP: When the dish is fully cooked, the roasted chicken should be tender and appear white (when cut into) and the onion should be softened.
