Most people love eating avocados (in salads, as guacamole, and on sandwiches), but did you know that you can use Amazing Avocados for DIY beauty treatments too?! Not only is this delicious fruit (yeah, you read that right – fruit) high in nutrients (when consumed), it’s emollient and vitamin-rich properties make it an equally fantastic at-home, natural skin care and hair treatment.
According to Tracey Wallace (contributor to LiveStrong.com), “The fruit is known to improve heart health, aid in weight loss, (and) provide a good source of vitamins B, C and E… Besides all of the internal benefits, avocados have received a well-earned reputation for keeping skin looking young, beautiful and moist.” This makes it especially beneficial for people who are looking to combat dry or aging skin. That’s where the Amazing Avocado Face Treatment comes in handy.
Here’s how to whip up a batch of this super-powerful Amazing Avocado Face Treatment:
1. Peel 1 ripe Amazing Avocado
2. Scoop contents (avocado flesh) out into a small bowl
3. Mash thoroughly with a fork or spoon until smooth consistency
4. Mix in 2 tsp. of Honey: “Moisturizing and soothing honey is good for dry skin” [The Body Shop Book]
5. Apply mixture to clean face and leave on for 20 minutes
6. Wash face and gently pat dry
In addition, the fatty oils found in avocados act as a moisturizer for dry hair and scalps, making it an excellent hair treatment. If your hair is damaged (due to heat and styling products, over-processing, or coloring), you’ll love how silky and smooth the Amazing Avocado Hair Treatment makes your mane look and feel.
Here are easy-to-follow instructions for making the Amazing Avocado Hair Treatment:
1. Peel 1 ripe Amazing Avocado and scoop contents (avocado flesh) into a small bowl
2. Mash thoroughly with a fork or spoon until smooth consistency
3. Mix in 1 tbsp. of Grapeseed Oil or Jojoba Oil (I used Desert Essence Jojoba Oil)
4. Apply mixture all over hair and scalp
5. Wrap hair up in a shower cap and leave on for 20 minutes
6. Hop in the shower, shampoo twice (or use a clarifying shampoo), and condition as usual
Voila! In just a few easy steps, you’ve improved the look and texture of your skin and hair with Amazing Avocados. The next time you’re at the market, toss a few of these fabulous fruits into your basket, and enjoy some leisurely time at home pampering yourself with these DIY beauty treatments.

Avocados are sooo good! Especially when I use it to make guacamole or add them to my salads. I have also tried an avocado shake before and it wasn’t too bad. Growing up I hated avocados, but now I use them in many of the things I cook. Maybe the cookbook will have some more interesting ways of using them so I can try out some new recipes and stop making the same thing over and over again.

Avocados are something while growing up I would not even dare go near them but now you can’t keep them away from me, I love them! I have never tried them though to help with face & hair treatments. Thank you for sharing & I will have to give this a try.

Hi Mikki! Thanks for your comment. Keep me posted!
I love avocados. I like to eat them with everything when I have them at the house. I love their taste, that fact that they have such a creamy texture and that they’re so nutritional. I’ve always want to try an avocado facial, but I always end up eating all my avocados before I can actually make a mask.

I love the avocado. I used to not like them at all but then I found they were used in so many different things that are good for the body. They are used in things like body wraps and teas. The list really goes on and on.
Hi Jackie! Thanks for your comment. It’s always interesting to find out the various ways that foods (like avocados) can be used.
Name: Arinna Black
I started eating avocado regularly this past year and I’ve found SUCH an improvement in how I feel and how I look. I’ve been using shampoo and lotions with avocado in them for awhile, too, but I haven’t made my own before like this–I’ll definitely have to try it soon!
Hi Arinna! I’ve always loved Avocados, as they’re high in nutrients, vitamins, and ‘good fats’ (not to mention tasty). You’ll love these treatments – they leave your skin and hair soft.
