Date Night Beauty Guide - Hair and Makeup Tips

From kissably-soft lips to smolderingly-sexy eyes, featured in this Date Night Beauty Guide are the top makeup looks that men love to see their date wear. While you might enjoy wearing a vivaciously-bold red lip for a night on the town, the truth is – most men prefer women to look more natural. With that said, when you’re getting ready for a big date, you should think in terms of playing up your natural beauty, rather than trying to look picture-perfect. Outlined below are date night beauty tips that will make you look fabulous for that special guy in your life.

Date Night Beauty Guide

Face Makeup

Since most dates tend to end up in romantic encounters, the last thing you want is your face makeup rubbing off on your date’s shirt. To help your face makeup last longer (and stay on), start with a skin primer. This not only helps minimize the look of large pores, wrinkles, and t-zone shine, it also helps increase the longevity of your face makeup. Instead of trying to create a ‘perfect canvas’ (by piling on foundation and powder), opt for a BB Cream instead. This not only helps even your skin tone and minimize any imperfections, it also tends to look more natural (letting your adorable freckles show through). To finish your face makeup, add a touch of pink-colored cream blush to your cheeks, and a light dusting of translucent setting powder on your forehead and nose.

Eye Makeup

Date night beauty should always be romantic and sultry. That’s why smoky eyes are a perfect way to add drama and intensity to your face without being too much. Instead of using black eyeshadow and liner to rim your peepers, opt for metallic earth toned eyeshadows and eyeliners instead. Ranging from copper to bronze, these gorgeous shades will bring out the color and shape of your eyes, without looking too harsh or strong. To finish off the look, use an eyelash curler to make your eyes appear bigger, and a few coats of thickening mascara to your lashes.

Lip Makeup

Since you want your pout to be kissable, instead of rocking that vivid crimson-hued lipstick you love so much, opt for a softer lip look instead. Make sure to gently exfoliate your lips (with a soft toothbrush and Vaseline) before applying any lip treatment, to ensure your lips are super-smooth and supple. Then swipe on a tinted lip balm in a soft, rosy pink hue to add a hint of color to your lips, without making them look untouchable. For the finishing touch, dab on a bit of high-shine lipgloss to the center of your lips (to make them appear fuller).

Voila! Your date night beauty regime is complete. As you step out that door, just remember what Cindy Crawford always said, “If all else fails, smile.”
