Car Shows on the Monterey Peninsula
During Monterey Car Week, there are all types of car shows being held throughout the area. From Carmel to Carmel Valley, Monterey, Seaside, and beyond – there’s no shortage of exciting car shows to attend. Whether you’re a Ferrari aficionado or into rare, exotic supercars, car shows are a great way to get out and experience the buzz of car week.

If you’re planning on attending a car show, do your research first to find out more about the venue. As an example, car shows like Concorso Italiano are hosted on a golf course. So, for those types of events – it’s wise to wear shoes that are suitable for grassy terrain. Espadrilles and wedges, stacked heels, flat sandals, and even flats are great choices. In addition, a casual sundress or a maxi dress is always a fabulous option. Bring a lightweight jacket or sweater as these car shows are generally hosted outdoors, and the weather is often unpredictable.
Car Week VIP Parties
When it comes to the glitz and glamour of Monterey Car Week, nothing tops the celeb-studded VIP parties hosted by car manufacturers and automobile owners’ clubs. From Alfa Romeo, Mercedes-Benz, and Cadillac to Rolls-Royce, Ferrari, and Lamborghini, one of the biggest draws of car week are the private parties hosted by car brands. If you’re lucky enough to be on the invite list, then it’s definitely worth your while to put together fabulous outfits.
Depending on when and where the parties are hosted often plays a factor in what to wear.
For example, if a reception is hosted between 6-9pm at a public venue (like an event pavilion), opting for a tasteful outfit is ideal. If, however, a party goes from 8-midnight and is held at a private event space (such as an estate, winery, or hotel), then you can turn up the heat with a glamorous party look.
