Street Style Inspiration - Light Denim

Street style inspiration is a fabulous (and easily accessible) way to see how the newest fashion trends are being worn in real life. Checking out street style stars and personal style bloggers’ take on new fashion trends is great for sparking fresh ideas about how to coordinate different pieces and for discovering which fashion trends women are embracing.

It’s one thing to be inspired by your favorite magazine or a famous celebrity; it’s completely different to take style notes from real women all over the world. Top personal style bloggers not only demonstrate impeccable style, but they’re completely relatable too, which is why fans everywhere love them.

Street Style Inspiration – Light Denim

In this edition of Street Style Inspiration, we’ll talk about how four popular personal style bloggers (from Cupcakes & Cashmere, Damsel in DiorSea of Shoes, and Song of Style) love to wear light denim, and show you how to get the look.

1. Cupcakes & Cashmere: After getting working at Teen VogueEmily of Cupcakes & Cashmere decided to venture out on her own to become a full-time blogger. Having earned the respect of her peers, the praises of her loyal followers, and collaborations with top brands (like Estee Lauder), she went on to publish a New York Times Best-Selling book, titled Cupcakes & Cashmere, which highlights fashion advice, entertaining tips, and DIY tutorials. With her laid-back, Southern California girl style, Emily loves coordinating vintage, feminine pieces with bold, modern accessories. Perfect for a stroll through a Farmer’s Market, for this look, she paired a chambray button-down shirt worn over a A-line, pale blue and white striped dress, and straw bag.

2. Damsel in Dior: Throughout the course of her illustrious blogging career, Jacey Duprie of Damsel in Dior has been featured in the Huffington Post, Vanity Fair, WhoWhatWear, QVC and Refinery29, and has even appeared in ad campaigns for SAKS, GAP/Old Navy and Levi’s. Her blog is an inspiring mix of street style fashion, lifestyle, beauty and home decor posts. For this light denim ensemble, she paired a chambray button-down shirt with a white eyelet midi skirt and chunky heeled mules. This outfit is great for heading to a pool party (as it can easily be worn over a swimsuit), or for a warm, summer afternoon spent browsing shops and bopping into bistros.

3. Sea of Shoes: Known for beautiful red hair and unique, vintage-inspired personal style, Jane Aldridge of Sea of Shoes, has become quite the fashion blogging phenomenon. Her popular fashion blog is part of the NowManifest fashion blog portal that features some of the most prominent voices in the fashion blogosphere (started by famed Swedish fashion blogger, Elin Kling, and later sold to Condé Nast). For this light denim look, she coordinated a light blue button-down shirt with faded skinny jeans, a menswear-inspired gray blazer, and stiletto mules.

4. Song of Style: Fashion Blogger and Interior Designer Aimee Song of Song of Style has transitioned from the internet into television by way of starring in a recent CoverGirl ad campaign. With over 1.4 million Instagram followers clamoring to get a glimpse of her jet-set lifestyle, street style looks, and designer collaborations, Aimee has undoubtedly become one of the most famous (and successful) fashion bloggers out there. For this casual look, she paired a light denim shirt with deconstructed denim skirt and heeled sandals (with a mirrored effect). For a fun pop of color, she opted to accessorize her head-to-toe denim outfit with a bright crimson-colored box bag.
