On Monday (May 7th), fashion industry elite (including Vogue Magazine’s Anna Wintour), fashion designers (including Zac Posen and Rachel Zoe), Hollywood starlets and A-list actresses (including Gwyneth Paltrow, Kristen Stewart, and Emma Stone), and supermodels (Gisele Bundchen and Karolina Kurkova) strutted their stuff at the Annual Costume Institute Gala held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The theme of this year’s exhibition was “Schiaparelli and Prada: Impossible Conversations“, showcasing the work of Elsa Schiaparelli and Miuccia Prada, two Italian designers from different eras.
This exclusive, star-studded event featured the world’s most renowned celebrities wearing incredible haute couture gowns. Glamour Magazine did an online poll asking readers their opinion on the best dressed celebs. The results showed that three of the best dressed celebs included: Nina Dobrev in Donna Karan, Karolina Kurkova in Rachel Zoe, and Camilla Belle in Ralph Lauren.
Nina Dobrev rocked a sultry, sequined gown by Donna Karan.
To look like Nina Dobrev without spending a fortune, below is a David Meister sequined gown ($570) that resembles her exquisite couture gown for a fraction of the price.
Actress Camilla Belle looked like a silver screen goddess with glowing, dewy skin and an embroidered Ralph Lauren gown with a plunging neckline.
To capture the stunning essence of Camilla Belle’s red carpet look, below is an exquisite art deco-inspired embroidered gown by Monique Lhuillier ($6900). Although it’s expensive, the intricate detailing and craftsmanship makes it worth the price. Like a piece of fine art, this gown is an investment that will only appreciate over time.
And last, but certainly not least, was the captivating 1970’s style of Karolina Kurkova in a Rachel Zoe head-to-toe sequin gown and matching turban headpiece.
Below is a similar long-sleeve sequin gown by Aidan Mattox ($525) that features a cutout back and slim bias-cut silhouette. This sparkling dress is sure to turn heads!
