To keep you feeling inspired about next season, we recently flew from California to New York City to report on the SS19 fashion shows at New York Fashion Week for Inspirations & Celebrations. 

While we’re just transitioning into Fall, since NYFW just happened in early September, we’re excited to share a preview of the hottest Spring/Summer 2019 fashion trends to come. To help you discover the most beautiful looks, in this new NYFW Style Series, we’ll be sharing the most inspiring fashion trends we saw on the runway.

Set annually in New York City, NYFW is one of the biggest week-long events in the world that showcases the upcoming seasonal collections from fashion designers around the globe. Featuring star-studded runway shows by iconic fashion brands (such as Michael Kors and Tory Burch) to presentations by celebrity-loved independent fashion designers (like one of Meghan Markle’s faves, NONIE), New York Fashion Week is by far one the ultimate gatherings of fashion designers, magazine editors, industry influencers, celebrity stylists and fashion bloggers.

NYFW Style Series: SS19 Evening Wear Collections

NYFW SS19 Collection: Afffair

When it comes to evening wear, one of the most stunning runway shows we saw during New York Fashion Week came from Turkish-based apparel brand Afffair.

Designer Rufat Ismayil presented the “Power of Fire” Collection (which is the new Spring/Summer 2019 collection) at Industria Studios in NYC. The designer wowed the chic audience with an electrifying runway show filled with spectacular dresses, separates, and jumpsuits.

The theme of the show was “Fashion Beyond Continents, Power of Fire from the Land of Fire.”

Combining powerful silhouettes, dramatic necklines and luxurious fabrics and materials (like silk and gemstones), the designer created a strong visual presentation of what female power means in today’s modern society.

When a woman feels confident, capable, and determined – she has all the power in the world to create the life she’s always dreamed of. That’s what this empowering collection signified to us – the beautiful strength of femininity.

From intricately beaded gowns to dazzling sequined tops, it’s no wonder that this breathtaking collection truly captured our attention and inspired us to fantasize about all the places we’d go in these gorgeous outfits. Whether you’re attending a gala or a wedding, this line of sophisticated pieces is a great addition to any glamorous wardrobe.

NYFW SS19 Collection: Custo Barcelona

For confident, globe-trotting women who have a penchant for bold patterns, high-shine metallics, and shimmering beading, the Custo Barcelona Spring/Summer 2019 collection (called the “Aftersun” collection) is a must-have.

The Spring/Summer 2019 Custo Barcelona collection made its colorful debut on the runway at Pier59 Studios during NYFW.

To excite the invited guests, the sultry atmosphere combined pulsating electronic beats with dramatic, mood-setting lighting. Even though it was 11 am on a Saturday morning, the cool-girl vibe of the runway show made us all feel like we were whisked away to a VIP nightclub in Ibiza.

The collection included a variety of standout styles including mini dresses, caftans, swimwear, and coats. Intentional draping and strategically-designed cut-outs highlighted the model’s frames while vibrant, cheery colors added a splash of playfulness to the bold, sexy cuts.

Featuring playful dresses, bodysuits, and coats crafted out of unique holographic fabrics, sumptuous silks, and iridescent glitter, these well-crafted pieces drape a woman’s silhouette in a truly figure-flattering way. Whether you’re going dancing at a swanky nightclub or heading to a fashionable cocktail party, this line is guaranteed to turn heads and get you noticed. 

  

One of the show’s attendees, Laura Adney (the California-based fashion blogger behind Have Need Want) says, “Custo Barcelona’s collections are always so vibrant. I love his use of color, prints, and texture. I’m not sure I could pick a favorite piece because I was wowed by each of the looks. Metallics and shimmery fabrics were carried through the entire collection. They were cohesive yet all so unique.”

NYFW SS19 Collection: Ruby Fang

Titled the “Morpheus Collection”, the ethereal Spring/Summer 2019 collection presented by fashion designer Ruby Fang wowed the trend-setting crowd at Industria Studios during New York Fashion Week.

Celebrated by a bevy of popular personal style bloggers, celebrities, and industry insiders, the Ruby Fang show struck the perfect chord between unexpected theatrical elements (like eye-catching beaded face masks worn by models) to majestic gowns befitting a modern-day Goddess.

As reported by FashionWeekOnline.com, this particular collection “was all about people who turn their dreams into realities”. From luxe appliqués and sheer fabrics to intricate beading, frothy tulle, and head-to-toe sequins, this collection of whimsical evening wear looks was a vibrant display of Fang’s inherent ability to transport you to a mystical, magical realm through fashion. 

One of the show’s VIP guests, Miss USA 2018 Sarah Rose Summers, told us, “I loved the unique pieces with dimension and colors that simply pop. It was an amazing show for my first NYFW.”
