Create a Festive Atmosphere

Set the stage for your party by decorating your home with holiday accents that are both warm and welcoming.

From a snow-dusted table centerpiece (made with miniature trees set on a bed of moss and accented by rustic pinecones) to a charming old-fashioned “Season’s Greetings” hand-painted wooden sign, holiday party decorations should exude a cozy home-and-hearth vibe.

You can even add a few sweet seasonal holiday gift bags to the table for added color and vibrancy.

Plan Your Food & Wine Pairings

To appeal to a variety of palettes, make sure to serve different wine varietals (like Line 39 Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon). What makes Line 39 wines especially appealing (aside from their budget-friendly price point) is their easy-to-drink flavor profiles and the fact that they pair well with all types of food.

As a California wine producer, Line 39 sources wines from vineyards that are based in the most prestigious winegrowing regions in the state. These ideal climates result in higher-quality grape production, which enables them to create delicious-tasting, award-winning wines that are fairly-priced (approx. $11 per bottle!).

One of the things I love about Line 39 wines is the story behind their name. Since the 39th parallel runs through California wine country, the brand name was inspired by this unique fact. As a long-time California wine lover, discovering versatile wines (like their rich, fruit-forward Cabernet Sauvignons and lush, tropical Chardonnays) makes entertaining even easier for me, as these wines pair well with a variety of foods.

To tie-in with the theme of our party, I made a “fill in the blank” Holiday Game sheet (click here to download) for each guest, asking them to match Santa Claus’ name to the correct country of origin. It was especially fun to see how involved our friends and family got, especially when they learned that they were competing for a prize! It was equally funny when we tried reading the answers out loud, given that each pronunciation of “Santa Claus” was in a foreign language (like Père Noël, Weihnachtsmann, and Viejito Pascuero).

Inspire Guests To Explore More

As the evening came to an end, as party favors, we sent guests home with an assortment of delicious Belgian truffles, packaged in adorable “Around The World” map gift boxes. Not only were these gourmet goodies affordable party favors, but they also inspired our guests to explore more and enjoy the journey along the way.

I love all the pretty decorations, the parties, family, and the fun that happens like magic during the holidays! People seem to be kinder to each other, at least, I know I am. This year has been one of the worst years of my life. My dad got diagnosed with terminal cancer back in April. We already lost our mother to breast cancer a few years ago, and this will be the last Christmas I get to spend with my father. So it really makes every moment that much more precious. You never know what’s going to happen in life. Even if you work hard, and do EVERYTHING right, things will still go wrong. A beautiful tree, the whole family in town, stockings, lights, and so much more make Christmas magical!

It’s a 2 day event of roughly 30 people(children included). It’s hectic but I love it. Getting to spend time with family. Of course it’s centered around food as most holidays are. Everyone brings a dish or two but I do most of the baking and making. I love the joy on everyones faces and knowing they are having a good time and enjoying the treats and food. I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

  59. It is time of the year to try something new is what I say for a bunch of people! So me and my cousins have one big dinner and we always try new things. What fun!!! This is a great ideal for Christmas Eve I am going to do this and for New Years!!!

  60. Spending time with family and indulging in special dishes that we only cook once a year are my favorite aspects to the holiday’s. When I was younger we would spend Christmas at my Grandparent’s lake home in central Minnesota. My Grandma would shovel a portion of the lake for us all to ice skate. We would spend the day sledding and snowmobiling on the lake and cozy up around the fireplace at night. Those are some of my favorite memories of Christmas in Minnesota.
