Holiday Makeup Tutorial Instructions:
STEP 1: To prep your skin (by smoothing fine lines and minimizing pores), apply the Milani Eyeshadow Primer to your eyelids with your ringer finger. This not only helps enhance and intensify the look of the eye makeup, it will also help prevent creasing and smudging throughout the day, ensuring that your eyes look gorgeous from dawn-to-dusk.
STEP 2: Next, apply your face makeup (foundation, blush, setting powder) using a damp sponge or clean makeup brushes. Make sure to thoroughly blend your face makeup to prevent any lines of demarcation from showing.
STEP 3: If need be, fill-in sparse areas of your eyebrows with an eyebrow pencil or powder. This will help add definition and a refined shape to your brows.
STEP 4: Using the Milani Fierce Foil Eyeliner brush, start to apply the metallic eyeliner to the outer corners of your eyelids, blending inward and upward toward the crease.
This eyeliner has a smooth rich consistency, making it easy to use as either an eyeshadow or liner. In this case, you’re using as an eyeshadow with more intensity than a traditional powder shadow.
The key to a soft smoky eye is to blend the product well, so that it creates an ombre effect, with the darkest pigmentation closest to your lash-line, lightening as you go up on the eyelid toward the crease. This eye makeup has a hint of shimmer, creating a radiant effect on your lids.
Continue to line the lower lash-line, focusing on the outer corners of your eyes and blending the product a bit for a smoldering, smoky effect.
STEP 5: For added drama and definition, using the Milani Supreme Kohl Kajal Eyeliner, draw a line along your upper lash-line, starting with the outer corner going inward. The outer corner should have the thickest line, getting thinner as you head inward. As Milani exclaims, “Tightlining, waterlining, adding definition to the upper lid – there’s nothing this one-stroke wonder can’t do.”
If you feel comfortable applying makeup, line the water-line on the lower lash-line. This will instantly make your eyes “pop” and add a glamorous touch, which is especially beautiful for evening events.
STEP 6: To play up your pout and give off a sexy, vixenish vibe, a dark rouge lip brings color to your face while emphasizing the shape of your lips. The Milani Color Statement Lipstick in Brandy Berry is a universally-flattering deep berry hue that works with most skin shades, from fair to dark.
Before applying the product directly from the tube, gently exfoliate your lips using a damp wash cloth or soft toothbrush. Because this particular lipstick contains hydrating ingredients, you don’t need to moisturize your lips with a lip balm prior to using.
Simply apply the lipstick directly to your clean lips. For extra longevity, lightly blot your lips with a tissue after applying one swipe of lipstick, then re-apply the lipstick. This extra step will help the product stay on your lips throughout the day.
While makeup artists have usually recommended playing up one feature (eyes or lips), the reason why this holiday makeup look works is because the smoky eyes are done in a soft way, which complements the dramatic lip makeup instead of competing with it.
To finish the look, simply swipe on a coat of black mascara. It’s as easy as that!
Now that I’ve shared my holiday look, what look would you create this holiday with Milani products?
