Just because you want to wear the latest fashion trends and styles, doesn’t mean you need to spend a fortune. Refinery29 recently posted an informative how-to guide about color blocking, the popular fashion trend that has taken over this summer. The R29 global editor (Connie Wang) suggested pairing colors that are similar to each other (like the dresses depicted in this post: Orange & Magenta or Red & Fuchsia Pink), in addition to off-setting the bright colors with neutral toned accessories. This week’s High-End vs. Affordable style post features maxi dresses, color blocked jewelry, and metallic gold gladiator style flat sandals.
1. Tibi Color Blocked Maxi Dress ($675): This scoop-neck, two-tone orange and magenta silk maxi dress features pleating at the asymmetrical skirt, on-seam hip pockets, gathered elastic banding and bar closure at cutout back, and silk lining. This popular maxi dress has been spotted on both celebrities and fashion bloggers (such as Atlantic-Pacific).
2. CC Skye Portico Color Blocked Bracelet ($155): This dynamic, contemporary bright orange and hot pink two-tone leather bracelet wraps around the wrist and fastens with a polished, gold-toned buckle closure.
3. Ancient Greek Sandals – ‘Medea’ Metallic Sandals ($255): These gold leather flat sandals feature a sexy cutout detail, studded detail, thong strap, leather sole with rubber heel grip and Signature wing-shaped buckle fastening at back.
