During the month of August each year, the world’s leading auto manufacturers (from Bentley Motors and Aston Martin to Cadillac, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, and Lexus), thousands of car collectors and automobile aficionados come from all over the world to gather on the Monterey Peninsula in Northern California for Monterey Car Week.

From the legendary Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and Historic Car Races to Exotics on Cannery Row, here are the best events during Monterey Car Week.
Whether you come for the spectacular social scene (and to observe the festive and flamboyant outfits), or you’re here for the beautiful, priceless cars (some dating back over 100 years), Monterey Car Week is the ultimate place to be if you love luxury living and anything car-related.
Mark your calendars, because – starting on Tuesday (August 16th) are Automobilia Monterey, Concours on the Avenue (in Carmel-by-the-Sea), and Classic Motorsports Magazine Monterey Cruise-In (in Carmel Valley).
On Wednesday (August 17th), get your fancy attire into high gear for the posh Gordon McCall’s Motorworks Revival 2016 at the Monterey Jet Center, The Little Car Show in charming Pacific Grove, and the Carmel Mission Classic in beautiful Carmel.
On Thursday (August 18th), rev your engines, because the stakes are starting to get high. The Russo and Steele Annual Sports and Muscle Auction, Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance presented by Rolex, and exhilarating RM Auctions in Monterey get going today. Plus, Light+Shadow Fine Art gallery in Carmel is hosting a fundraiser and reception (from 4-8pm), raising funds from the sales of contemporary automobile artwork to help support a worthy cause.
On Friday (August 19th), take a spin around the Monterey Peninsula to hit up these 3 must-attend Monterey Car Week events. The Exotics on Cannery Row (featuring breathtaking Lamborghinis and 007-worthy Aston Martins), the Legends of the Autobahn (showcasing Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Audi) at the Nicklaus Club, and the sold-out Quail Motorsports Gathering at Quail Lodge in Carmel Valley.
On Saturday (August 20th), you’ll quickly realize it’s a dolce vita during Monterey Car Week when you cruise over to Concorso Italiano, The Barnyard Ferrari Event, and the heart-pumping races at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
On Sunday (August 21st), Pebble Beach is the place to cap-off Monterey Car Week. The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance (which kick-started Monterey Car Week decades ago) and the Pebble Beach Auction (presented by Gooding & Company) are the must-attend events that day.
Throughout the week, a few other places to go are the Pebble Beach RetroAuto exhibit at The Inn at Spanish Bay in Pebble Beach. Shop for automobile memorabilia and Concours d’Elegance merchandise, while getting up-close to the world’s finest cars.
Last, but certainly not least, are the automobile manufacturers’ displays and test-drives happening at Peter Hay Golf Course in Pebble Beach and around town (at Quail Lodge and other venues).
