Cinco de Mayo Party Ideas

In celebration of the Mexican culture, Cinco de Mayo has become a widely-recognized holiday throughout Mexico and the United States. To take part in the festivities of this day, get in the spirit by hosting a Cinco de Mayo party.

Cinco de Mayo Party Decorations:

In Mexico, bright vibrant colors are an integral part of the decor. To bring life to your fiesta, an easy and affordable way to make a big impact without requiring a considerable investment or time is to decorate your party with cheerful assorted color balloons.

A colorful sombrero or donkey shaped Piñata not only evokes the festive essence of a Cinco de Mayo celebration, it also adds a fun form of entertainment for all your party guests, as they can take turns up at bat (hoping to break open the sweet treats contained inside).

Cinco de Mayo Party Food:

A quick and easy food offering to prepare are tacos (that your guests can serve themselves). In a pan, cook shredded, seasoned chicken until done, then place in a large bowl. In separate bowls, display shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, and chopped tomatoes. On a platter, line up crunchy taco shells. And let your guests put together their tacos as they please.

A fast dessert option is Mexican cookies, which can be purchased at a market in advance.

Cinco de Mayo Party Beverages:

A Cinco de Mayo party is the perfect opportunity to take out the Tequila. Milagro Tequila Brand Ambassador (and Tequila expert) Jaime Salas shares with us his exclusive recipe for a Red Belly Margarita.
