Nexxus Color Assure System
The Nexxus Color Assure Pre-Wash Primer acts as a pre-treatment to shield hair in the shower. It works by repelling water, to help your hair color last longer and look richer as weeks go by. The Pre-Wash Primer is comprised of clear oils (such as Almond, Coconut, and Argan oil) and White Orchid Extract (which acts as a sealant on your hair, preventing water from enter the core of the hair follicles), and does not contain any sulfates. Each of these beneficial oils help improve the overall health and condition of your hair by adding back moisture, softness, and shine.
Before jumping into the shower, you simply apply a few pumps of the Pre-Wash Primer to dry hair. Starting at the ends, work your way up to the roots, making sure to cover the top layer of your hair especially (since that is the first area that starts to fade). Your hair should feel silky, but not greasy. If it feels too saturated, that means you applied too much. Only about 5-7 pumps should be all your need (depending on the length and thickness of your hair). Then shampoo and condition as usual.

I visit a salon every few weeks to get Demi-Permanent hair color treatments (to boost the natural color of my hair and to conceal some gray hairs). The upside of Demi-Permanent hair coloring is that it is considered gentler and safer for the hair (as opposed to Permanent hair coloring). But, the downside is that this type of color washes out over time. Therefore, after a couple of weeks of normal cleansing and styling, I generally notice that my hair color doesn’t have the same depth and intensity that it first did when I visited the salon.
