Style Spotting Across America
With Memorial Day coming up next week, it got me thinking about all the different ways that people throughout the USA celebrate the national holiday… from beach picnics to backyard barbecues to pool parties. Since so many people will be traveling over the holiday weekend, I thought it’d be a fun opportunity to post about the style trends that are being spotted all across America. And since you might be visiting one of these places, better to know how they dress, or you might run the risk of looking like a tourist (eek!).
Starting on the west coast in sunny Southern California, the relaxed bohemian vibe can be spotted all over Los Angeles, from Santa Monica to Venice Beach. This flowy floral print silk-chiffon Haute Hippie dress features a feminine ruffle overlay at the gathered elastic top hem, drawstring at the gathered elastic waist, curved bottom hem, and adjustable spaghetti straps. Paired with comfy espadrilles and boho chic jewelry, this laid back style is ready for any California cool celebration.
Heading down to the Lone Star state of Texas, the styles seen in Houston and Dallas are flirty, feminine, and colorful. This strapless silk dress by Shoshanna features a flocked dot pattern, sweetheart neckline, draping at boned bodice, and asymmetrical pleating at skirt. With a look so sweet, all the southern gentlemen are sure to take notice.
Next we head to the heart of the country and find ourselves in the windy city of Chicago (Illinois), where the style is decidedly sexy, sophisticated, and stunning. Featured here is a classic Herve Leger bandage dress that features a deep, double V-neckline, adding undeniable allure to a body-conscious silhouette.
If white sandy beaches, great people watching, and a hot nightlife scene sounds like your idea of a dream getaway, then head down to Miami, Florida. Floridians are no strangers to year-round sunshine and warm weather; so, bright colors, bold patterns, and sexy cuts are just an everyday style for them. Featured here is a lively color blocked belted maxi dress in a fun horizontal striped pattern. This dress will take you from a poolside brunch to shopping on Ocean Drive.
And we can’t talk about stylish cities without mentioning The Big Apple. Always a step ahead when it comes to trends, taking bold and daring fashion risks, and adding an element of interest, this dress epitomizes east coast sophistication. From color blocking to asymmetrical cut-outs, New York is known for trend-setters with dynamic and edgy personalities, distinctive styles, and discerning taste. Intriguingly angled color block panels construct the asymmetrical neckline of this fitted jersey sheath dress with pintucked rear pleats and figure-enhancing side-ruching.
